1. Failed states is a massively interesting topic — Stef and I are preparing a manuscript about this now (reflexive to the core, asking essentially if failed states are symbolic of failed IR theorizing …). I’ll keep you posted.

   • hey nich, thanks for keeping me in the loop, would think (along the lines of sassen’s new work and our ongoing discussion at yer blog) that it might be more the other way that there is a failure to in the academy to attend to the contemporary, but than i see the tyranny of the means wherever i look
