The “gaps” in our understanding of consciousness are not philosophical aporias but more empirical matters like the remaining gaps in the evolutionary rhizome, that said I admire Evan’s willingness to take the related scientific research seriously and am fascinated to see how much of the Dalai Lama’s own personal development will or won’t be filtered down into the wider communities that revere him.
For the record it is wrong to say that the mental is physical but only because the “mental” isn’t anything, doesn’t exist.
