I’ll have to give some more thought to the idea of the evolution of artifacts but an interesting chat nonetheless tho the interviewer is a bit lacking.

Lovelock is a quite astonishing human being but Monbiot is spot on with his criticisms.
oh I’ve never bought into Lovelock’s work by and large, but while I’m happy to consider physics, chemistry, and all (the materials and forces, not the human disciplines) in terms of thinking about evolution I’m not as sold on technology (not that is doesn’t have eco-impacts obviously it does but can we think of tech as akin to say turtle shells?), and what might this mean for theories of extended-minding that I’m pretty sold on?
